Al Akhbar: Lebanese Authorities to Issue Ghassan Jedd’s Arrest Warrant in Absentia
The Lebanese authorities are preparing a special file on the accused "Israeli" spy, retired General Ghassan Al Jidd, in a preliminary step to issue an arrest warrant in absentia, a judicial source told Al Akhbar newspaper.
The source pointed out, "It is preferable that the file specifies the country Al Jidd is residing in. However, this does not obstruct issuing the warrant; neither does it prevent issuing a death penalty that would be considered if it was evidently proven that he is an agent for an enemy country."
The Judicial source assured that every agent will be punished.
Al Jidd's case was publicly known after Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah announced during his latest press conference that Hizbullah has information reassuring Al Jedd's presence in the crime scene one day before PM Rafiq Hariri's assassination.
