Under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran transferred nuclear fuel to the Bushehr nuclear reactor to finally hold on Saturday the years-delayed Russian-completed nuclear power plant.

Earlier Saturday, head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi, and Russian Federal Atomic Energy Director Sergei Kiriyenko held talks and discussions before inaugurating the power plant.

According to IRNA, Sergei Kiriyenko expressed satisfaction, in addition to his country's commitment to its part of the plant expressing, "This is an important event. We declare that Russia stood by all its commitments to the Bushehr nuclear power plant".

Great hopes are being built on Bushehr's reactor, including the use of nuclear-generated electricity, which Iranian official expect in two or three months after the inauguration.

The Bushehr nuclear reactor was once a joint Iranian-German plan, before the German contractor withdrew from the project after the Islamic revolution, and later constructions resumed by Russia in the year 1995.
