While attending a military maneuver, Murr said, "I announce the launching of a fund to support and equip the army," revealing that the Cabinet will soon be discussing a draft concerning armament for a 3-year-plan.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA), the Defense Minister and former Defense Minister Michel Murr deposited almost $670,000 in a bank account for the Lebanese army funding.
Lebanese President Michel Suleiman had previously announced launching a national, Arab and international campaign for help and support equip the Lebanese army, allowing it to defend the country.
