President Suleiman Launches Lebanese Army Armament Campaign
Lebanese President Michel Suleiman launched a campaign aiming at arming the Lebanese army with all requirements through the Lebanese government, regardless of all countries' stances on this issue.
President Suleiman was surprised with the campaign calling for unarming the army, as the national Lebanese army has the complete legitimacy and support and is the security of the Lebanese society with all its sects.
During his visit to Odaisseh to the Tuesday clashes region, President Suleiman examined the location were two Lebanese soldiers and Al Akhbar reporter Assaf Bou Rahhal martyred.
He later held a meeting with Commander of the UNIFIL in the South, Major-General Alberto Asarta and Lebanese army officers in Kfardounin Barrack, where they discussed the latest developments in light of the continuous "Israeli" violations into the Lebanese lands.
On his part, Loyalty to the Resistance Parliamentary Bloc MP Ali Fayyad, who was one of the receivers to President Suleiman, praised the visit. Moreover, he pointed out its positive significations that the priority goes to confronting the "Israeli" aggressions, and emphasizes on holding on to Lebanon's right to defend itself and its land by its army, people, and resistance."
MP Fayyad said that the visit was a relief to the people because they regarded it as a message indicating that the government is present on the borders region to strengthen the army's defense capacities, support people's firmness, and hold on to the choice of confronting "Israel's" aggressions no matter what the sacrifices are.
