A Blatant Breach of 1701, South Lebanon Witnesses New “Israeli” Assaults

According to the Lebanese Army Directorate, an "Israeli" army patrol has crossed on Tuesday the blue line at the Lebanese-Palestinian borders surrounding Oddeisseh town.

Lebanese Army confronted the enemy's forces with weapons and Rocket-propelled grenades (RPG), leading to a clash between the two forces during which Israel targeted Army locations and civilians' homes causing the martyrdom of Lebanese soldiers and civilians.
Four Lebanese were martyred and five others were injured in the "Israeli" aggression along the Occupied Palestinian- Lebanese border.

Al Manar TV quoted a security official as saying that a high ranking "Israeli" officer was killed in the shelling and the occupation forces were trying to pull him out of the Lebanese territories. Another occupation soldier was injured and he is in a critical situation.
According to AFP, a Lebanese army spokesman said the clashes erupted after "Israeli" soldiers attempted to uproot a tree on the Lebanese side of the fenced border. "The Israelis began to fire and we responded," he said.
The "Israeli" army could be heard calling in Arabic for an immediate ceasefire over loudspeakers.
The "Israeli" occupation foreign ministry held the Lebanese government responsible for the escalation on the border.
On the internal level, Lebanese President Michel Suleiman condemned the attacks, stating that the "Israeli" violation in Odeisseh was in contravention of Security Council resolution 1701 which the U.N. is keen on implementing.
On his part, Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, made on Tuesday a series of phone calls from Sardinia- where he spends his vacation- with President Michel Suleiman, Army commander General Jean Kahwaji, and UNIFIL leadership whereby he tackled the latest "Israeli" aggressions against Lebanese Army and their breach to resolution 1701.
PM Hariri condemned the "Israeli" violations against Lebanon's sovereignty calling on UNIFIL and the United Nations to assume full responsibility and to exert pressure on "Israel" so as to put terms to its aggressions.
On another note, Speaker Berri delivered a speech in which he sternly condemned "Israeli" breaches of Resolution 1701 threatening Lebanese constancy.
"This aggression is a clear message for Syrian and Saudi Arabian conducted efforts to guarantee stability in Lebanon," Berri affirmed adding that the incident also targets Arab efforts to reconstruct South Lebanon.
"We hereby call on the Lebanese government to file an immediate complaint before the International Security Council for the enemy's practices attack Resolution 1701 and the international appeasement efforts," Berri concluded.
Meanwhile, the Higher Defense Council holds an emergency meeting in Baabda to take the necessary stand after the "Israeli" attack in the South.
On the backdrop of the attacks, Syrian president Bashar Al Asaad telephoned his Lebanese counterpart Michel Suleiman in solidarity, stressing that Syria stands by Lebanon in the face if the "Israeli" attacks.
As for the "Israeli' part, "Israeli" foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman said that the Zionist State sees the Lebanese government as responsible for this grave incident and warns of consequences in the event that disturbances of this kind continue.
