US General Arrested for Afghan War Document Leaks

US officials said US army intelligence general was arrested in the framework of investigating the leak of more than 90,000 secret military documents over the Afghan war. The documents were published online on wikileaks.

In this context, US War Minister Robert Gates considered that such a one of a kind leak of secret Afghan war documents might have serious repercussions on the US troops and their allies, in addition to the US's reputation.

According to Gates, the biggest fear is that now, Afghans and other allies might not trust the US anymore for keeping their secrets.

"That is one of the worst aspects of this: will people trust us?" Robert Gates said.

During a Press Conference in the Ministry's headquarters, the US War Minister refused to comment on the investigation, although he revealed his request in participating in the investigations in order to make sure of reaching sought answers.
