Qassem to As-Safir: UNIFIL Encroachments Cause People Worry

Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, confirmed that Hizbullah leadership has decided not to interact with the Special tribunal, adding that there is a specific plan regarding the tribunal, which Hizbullah will be abiding by, as previously appointed by Hizbullah Secretary General.

In an interview with As-Safir newspaper, Sheikh Qassem stressed that at the time where the phenomenon of enemy spies is spreading, death sentence should be carried out on all "Israeli" spying agents. He reviewed what happened in the year 2000, after the Liberation in May, where the judicial sentences on espionage agents were not effective and pretty much considered symbolic, and therefore did not deter them from spying.

Sheikh Qassem further added that it is possible other agents as well were collaborating with the enemy agent formerly working in "Alfa", recently seized by the Lebanese army intelligence.

Regarding the constant "Israeli" breaches, Sheikh Qassem revealed that a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Parliamentary Bloc will be presenting the government with a proposal concerning measures which it should adopt as a result of the constant "Israeli" violations.

As for the recent tension erected between UNIFIL troops and the citizens of South Lebanon, Sheikh Qassem considered, "It would have been better, according to Hizbullah, that the UNIFIL did not create this tension with the people, especially the military maneuvers it planned to conduct in very unsuitable circumstances".

Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General clarified that since the UNIFIL were recruited to Lebanon,
Hizbullah welcomed them on the condition of applying resolution 1701, thus the UNIFIL is concerned with abiding to its duty and not trespassing it.

Sheikh Naeim Qassem stressed that the UNIFIL should watch what it is doing, since its encroachments cause people worry, demolishing all trust elements between UNIFIL and the people.

On the other hand, Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General confirmed that what Jeffrey Feltman revealed, regarding paying $500 million for the sedition of Hizbullah, demands confrontation on all levels, including adopting specific steps for stopping these violations.

As for the aid ships to Gaza, Sheikh Qassem stressed that such an act serves the whole Palestinian issue, confirming that Hizbullah is not taking part in it.
