Lebanon to UN: "Israel" Threatens of Full Destruction of Lebanese Infrastructure
The Lebanese government sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on the eve before releasing a report for implementing the UN resolution 1701.
The letter the Lebanese government sent on Monday urged Ban Ki-Moon to pressure "Israel" to commit to this resolution.
In the letter, Lebanon said since the U.N. chief's last report, "Israel" had violated its airspace 347 times, and carried out respectively 33 and 75 sea and land violations, Lebanese An-Nahar newspaper reported.
The report referred that the total number of violations since the adoption of 1701 in 2006 reached 6,945, indicating that the "Israeli" enemy's threats against Lebanese are increasing as, "they reached a point of threatening full destruction of its (the country's) infrastructure."
In conclusion, Lebanon urged the international community to make all efforts to end such threats that destabilize Lebanon.
The UN resolution 1701 was released as a result of July 2006 "Israeli" attack against Lebanon that caused hundreds of deaths and injuries, and extensive infrastructure damage. The resolution called on "Israel" to consider Lebanese sovereignty and respect the Blue Line.
