Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast denounced the double-standard approach of the West, stressing that such an approach is not correct.

In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) he said, "Tehran believes that such approaches cannot be practical."

He assured that the best way to respect rights of all nations is avoiding discriminatory attitudes and removing the existing injustice at the international arena.

The spokesman indicated that such sanctions against Iran aim at preventing the Iranian nation from pursuance of peaceful nuclear technology.

On the other hand, being a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Iranian Ambassador to the IAEA Ali Asghar Sultanieh assured, "Iran will not compromise on its inalienable rights under the NPT and the IAEA Articles of Association".

In a speech to the agency's Board of Governors in Vienna, Sultanieh noted that, Iran will continue its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog.

The Iranian permanent representative to the UN nuclear agency also referred that Iran has not denied IAEA inspectors access to its nuclear facilities, nor has it withdrawn from the NPT, despite the unfair approach adopted by the UN Security Council towards the country.

"Iran will not allow the few nuclear-armed countries on the UN Security Council to use their right of veto to let New York dictate to the IAEA what it should do", he added.

Sultanieh reassured that IAEA reports on Iran have all verified that there has been no diversion in the nation's peaceful nuclear activities.

He called on the few Western countries which "always politicize and polarize the IAEA" to change their approach from confrontation to cooperation.
