Sayyed Khamenei Addresses Iranians on Imam Khomeini Ceremony
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah delivered a speech at the south Tehran shrine before leading the weekly Friday prayers at Imam Khomeini mausoleum south of Tehran on the late Imam's death anniversary..
Imam Sayyed Ali in his address to millions of Iranians who came to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the demise of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the late Imam Khomeini. He dwelt on noble features of the late Imam Khomeini, who passed away in June 1989.
Sayyed Khamenei warned about the new plots and conspiracies of the bullying powers against the Iranian nation.
Addressing a gathering of eulogists and poets in Tehran, Ayatollah Khamenei warned about a new wave of strategies employed by "global bullies and international gangs of power and wealth" with the aim of countering the Iranian nations progress.
"A sense of responsibility and hard work will aid the Iranian nation to foil these plots," the Leader added. Ayatollah Khamenei also praised the 1979 Islamic Revolution for weakening the tyrannical grip of oppressive powers.
"If the Iranian nation had not made the exploitation, monopoly and control of the resources of nations difficult for domineering powers by choosing the path of the Revolution it would not become the target of such enmity and malice," he added.
On another note, Sayyed Khamenie called on world nations to put a stop to "Israeli" atrocities, stating that the Zionist regime is bound to collapse.
"Israel is a cancerous tumor," said Ayatollah Khamenei.
The Leader said "Israel's" policies have pushed it to the brink of collapse, adding that Muslim nations should take their cue from Imam Khomeini's strong stance on "Israel" and its policies.
"The attack on the Gaza aid convoy showed how barbaric the Zionist regime really is," said Ayatollah Khamenei, referring to "Israel's" deadly commando attack of the Gaza-bound aid convoy, which left around 20 people dead and more than 50 others injured.
According to the Leader, the late Imam made it his prime goal "to fight dictatorial regimes" such as Tel Aviv and thus he emerged as the main driving force behind world resistance movements.
Imam Khomeini passed away on June 3, 1989, ten years after propelling the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979 that put an end to the despotic Pahlavi regime.
