Morin: Scud Missile Issue Not Credible

In his visit to Baabda Presidential Palace, French Defense Minister Herve Morin assured he does not have any information that reassures presence of Scud missiles in South Lebanon, as "Israel" has been claiming. 


In a press conference in the airport, Morin reiterated "France's support to the Lebanese government and people, for the sake of ensuring Lebanese stability, sovereignty, and unity of its lands with what suits resolution 1701."


As he visited his country's divisions in the South, he referred that "the Palestinian-"Israeli" issue, and the international pressure on Iran's nuclear file, could affect southern Lebanon."
Morin assured on the continuous cooperation, negotiations, and strong relations between the two countries in the various fields.


On his part, Lebanese president Michel Suleiman hoped that France would keep on supporting rightful cases, thanking it for its stances towards Lebanon.


President Suleiman said this while receiving French Morin, who visited the Presidential Palace in Baabda on the head of a delegation, with the presence of the French ambassador Denis Pietton.


He stressed on France's continuous support to Lebanon in international and regional meetings.


Suleiman reviewed the current regional situation, and horizons of the peace process in Middle East.
