US Kills 14 in NW Pakistan

A US drone attack in Pakistan's nortthern Waziristan region has killed 14 people.

The strike reportedly targeted a militant compound, according to Pakistani security officials.

The drone reportedly fired a barrage of 18 missiles on Tuesday at a vehicle and the compound in a village in the Lawara Mandi area, near the border with Afghanistan.

The US has increased the number of drone attacks in Pakistan in recent years. Since August 2008, such strikes have killed nearly a thousand people, including many civilians.
