US Assistant Secretary of State for Middle Eastern Affairs, Jeffrey Feltman said, "If information about Syria supplying Hizbullah with Scud missiles are true, this means its very dangerous, and we should do what is possible to shutdown such operation."

In an interview with An-Nahar newspaper, Feltman added, "Throughout this year, we considered the information as nerve-racking, leading us to contacting Syria for inquiry", referring that their information source in this case is American.

On the other hand, Feltman confirmed US's commitment to "dialogue" with Syria, while those opposing such policy in the US, considered the meeting held between Syrian Bashar Assad, Iranian Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Hizbullah's Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, as "Evidence against the US".

Concerning Lebanon's membership in the UN Security Council (UNSC), and the US's urging attempt to compel sanctions on Iran because of its nuclear program, Feltman said, "Lebanon chooses to take in such responsibility, and realizes the duties of being a UNSC member".

Jeffrey Feltman clarified that he is confident of Lebanon's abiding of those duties, and that it is committed to international and regional peace and security.
