The Palestinian Detainees' families organized a popular demonstration to support the detainees in the enemy's prison. The demonstrations took place almost all around the West Bank, where store were closed for two hours. The demonstrations demanded that no truce is to take place before letting go of all the Palestinians in the "Israeli" prisons.
This demonstration coincided with many protests in the West Bank, which confirmed that the year 2010 should be the year of freeing the detainees.
On his behalf, the Minister of Prisoners and Detainees said that the nightmare of detainees will soon end, stressing on that the Palestinians will not accept any form of peace or settlement if the detainees were not freed.
In the same context, MP Moustafa Barghouti asked for considering the detainees' issue in order to set them free, referring that this issue has been haunting each and every Palestinian home. He further added that almost a hundred Palestinians have spent more than twenty years in custody, and yet are excluded in every prisoner exchange operation, because of the cruel Zionist standards.
