Free Hospitalization for Elderly #Lebanese to Begin Oct. 1

Health Minister Wael Abu Faour Wednesday announced that the implementation of a program providing Lebanon’s elderly with full hospitalization coverage will begin Oct. 1.

In a news conference, Abu Faour also announced that his ministry has signed a contract with two private companies to monitor the work of hospitals, noting that the ministry wasn’t doing an efficient job.

"I am counting on the entire medical sector ... to understand that this is to serve the Lebanese citizen. Any medical work at any hospital will go through a monitoring mechanism and I hope the hospitals will comply," he added.
