A car bomb killed an unknown number of Jordanian soldiers near the Syrian border, the army said.

Jordan’s state TV reported that the car bomb targeted border guards in the Rukban refugee camp on the Syrian border.

Although the army said it had destroyed several "enemy" vehicles at the border, no further details were told.

Relatively, the attack came in the remote desert northeast of the kingdom where tens of thousands of Syrian refugees have sought shelter in a makeshift camp just across an informal border crossing between the two countries.
