Voters in Tajikistan had approved changes to the Constitution allowing the president to rule indefinitely, AP quoted election officials as saying Monday.
An initial count showed 94.5 percent of voters supported at a referendum on Sunday amendments that included a provision to scrap presidential term limits. President Emomali Rakhmon, 63, has ruled Tajikistan since 1992.
