32 Killed during Religious Festival in India

At least 32 people died in a stampede at a religious festival in the city of Patna in eastern India on Friday.

The stampede happened as a crowd of thousands of people were returning home after attending the major Hindu festival of Dussehra, government officials said.

According to reports, the panic governed by rumors that an electric wire snapped and fell on some people near Gandhi grounds, the site of the festival.
