Lebanese Army intelligence agents defused Friday evening a bomb weighing 250 grams near Martyrs Square in the southern city of Sidon, state-run National News Agency reported.
The army later issued a statement saying the explosive device was discovered by an intelligence patrol around 9:00 pm.
The bomb "was armed and containing 200 grams of explosive material," the statement added.
"A military expert arrived on the scene and dismantled the bomb as a probe was launched into the incident," it said.
