Five people were killed and 34 injured in 25 separate road accidents in the past 24 hours across Lebanon, the Traffic Monitoring Center [TMC] and the Lebanese Red Cross said on Thursday.

Four people died and four others were injured in a single crash on Thursday morning when two small passenger buses collided head-on in Ferzol, near the eastern city of Zahle, TMC said.

On the Damour-Sidon highway, a Sudanese man identified as Badreddine Badawi was killed by a motorist while attempting to escape a blaze that had broken out in his own vehicle.

Moreover, in addition to the five fatalities, the Lebanese Red Cross said 34 people were injured in 25 road accidents in the past 24 hours.
