Lebanon's General Security announced Wednesday that a would-be suicide bomber affiliated with the Wahhabi Daesh [Arabic acronym for "ISIS" / "ISIL"] was arrested after intensive monitoring and surveillance.
Aa.A.K., a Syrian national born in 1994, admitted to belonging to Daesh and working to benefit the group by recruiting people to fight alongside its militants in Syria, the agency said a statement.
"Through the channels and the groups that he formed, he began working on recruiting people to join [Daesh]," the statement said.
"He wasn't able to [carry out the plan], due to his arrest," General Security said.
Aa.A.K. has been referred to the relevant judicial authorities.
