Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah appeared via al-Manar TV on Tuesday, addressing the Lebanese people on the latest event that took place on Tuesday. The so-called free Syrian army detained a dozen Lebanese citizens in Aleppo, who were returning from a pilgrimage visit to a holy site in Iran.
His Eminence Sayyed Nasrallah addressing in particular the families of the abducted citizens said "My speech is directed to the families of the [13 Lebanese men abducted in Syria] as well as to all the Lebanese citizens sympathizing with them. On my and Speaker [Nabih] Berri's behalf; I declare this abduction is condemned. The imminent issue is to resolve the matter."
"I assure to the families [of the abducted] and the people that Speaker Berri and I will responsibly deal with the case. We have in fact already begun working on the case, these are our children who got abducted," he stressed.
Addressing the government, Sayyed Nasrallah said "The government should bear its responsibility and work seriously to resolve this case and release the abductees. Speaker Nabih Berri and I have contacted Prime Minister Mikati and other parties; we are all exerting major efforts to secure the release of the abductees."
Addressing the people, Sayyed Nasrallah assured that "We all need to cooperate together to achieve positive results," adding "people have the right to protest in a square, a compound, or a mosque but roads should not be blocked."
"We do not want anyone to block roads, we fear a third row intervention in an attempt to cause conflict with the army, or the country might blunder in other negative results in the midst of such tense situation," the Hizbullah Secretary General went on to say, iterating "I call on the people of the Southern Suburb and the entire region to refrain from blocking roads. We hold complete responsibility, we understand the tension and feelings [of the abductees' families], but any threats of kidnapping Syrians in Lebanon as reaction [to the abduction of Lebanese pilgrims] is rejected, the Syrians in Lebanon are our brothers."
Hizbullah Secretary General once again, assured that "blocking roads and committing violent actions do not serve the case, also such actions are unaccepted on the moral, religious and social levels."
Assuring that [Hizbullah and others] will work day and night to release the pilgrims, Sayyed Nasrallah stated that contacts already began with the Syrian authority, and some other regional influential countries, and that all sides will put their utmost effort to bring the pilgrims back home safe and sound.
