At the time when the US hypocrisy is being revealed and when its fake appeals for democracy and human rights are being exposed, the US once again proves its double-standard policy is being a "seller that doesn't believe in its own product".
Another scandal has come to light, this time it is about not respecting its own dead. In this context, the US daily Washington Post published a report last Wednesday indicating that the corps of 274 American troops, which were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, were dumped in a landfill in the state of Virginia.
After the US Army, Air Force, claimed it was unable to tell how many soldiers' bodies were part of the dumping process, it was later revealed that the remains of at least 274 troops, including 976 body fragments, that could not be identified, were sent to the landfill.
The Post stressed that the parents of the deceased "trusted" the US military to dispose of the remains respectfully and with dignity; yet apparently the US authority apparatuses cannot be trusted.
Also, according to the US Air Force, the Washington Post noted that the dumping of "unidentified" soldiers' bodies, which passed through the Dover Air Force base, started as early as February 2004.
Furthermore, the Post quoted a Pentagon official saying that the US Air Force said that "tallying the parts and trying to match them with the more than 6300 bodies that have passed through Dover would require "massive effort and time".
The US is not playing its cards right, and as its troops are facing a historic defeat in their withdrawal from Iraq, it's trying to undermine the tragedy of its defeat and loss, through disposing of the fighters.
