The meeting was an opportunity to review and discuss the general regional situation, Lebanese and Palestinian in particular. Those meeting noted ongoing political movement for the resumption of settlement negotiations as per "Israeli" terms and conditions, seeing it as an indication of the level of decline and disability the official Arab position has reached in the face of "Israeli" threats and U.S. pressures.

Those meeting asserted the importance of building Lebanese - Palestinian relations in the new political phase taking place in Lebanon on the basis of strengthening the steadfastness of both Lebanese and Palestinian peoples in the face of plans aiming to liquidate the right of return and impose Palestinian resettlement. 

The chief logical condition for this strengthening is to give Palestinians their civil and social right in a manner that preserves their identity and cause.
