What the "Israelis" did in the Aqsa mosque on Sunday before last, on "Yom Kippur" ‘Forgiveness Day' is unpardonable. It is an indication of their decision to move to the final phase of their broad scale attack on the Palestinian issue, which can now be summed up in the Islamic sites in Quds (Jerusalem) City after the collapse of the other sanctities and after the entire Palestinian people have been turned into captives internally or forgotten on the world stage.

With exceptional foolishness on the behalf of President Barack Obama's Administration or may be perhaps due to a firm trap laid by the "Israelis", the "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acquired what seems to be a green light to complete and focus the assault on the occupied Quds city and its mosque, a site whose religious and historical standing no Muslim in the world would tolerate harm to.

Such an attack indicates that Washington, which now wages wars against Islamists in Afghanistan and Iraq, has given way for new Islamism to rise in the Arab East, who shall assume leadership of the conflict with ‘Israel' under the banner of championing the Aqsa Mosque. In addition, Tehran, who is now battling a blockade that is likely to tighten, is being given another opportunity in this situation to gain further expansion of its role and influence in both the Arab and Islamic worlds.

This was the particularly serious risk or perhaps spark spurred by Obama when he retreated before Netanyahu on the subject of freezing occupation settlements in the West Bank, hence allowing settlement legislation in East Quds; this has not been noticed by many Arab fans of the American president who are still admiring his brown skin tone, and still depending on his - questionable from the onset - Islamic roots, to produce a Palestinian state and liberate the Aqsa.

They speculate that one day he may be the guest of prayer in the first Kiblah (The place toward which Muslims turned in prayer) and the third holiest shrine, under a Palestinian flag.

What occurred is frightening in the full sense of the word.

Even those substantively assessing Obama's conduct find it difficult to understand his eight months long insistence on occupation settlement freeze, as a condition for resuming negotiations, to then suddenly abandon this condition, leaving the Palestinian Authority stripped in the open, or worse, placing all the "Arab moderates" in an awkward position in front of their public, among whom Islamists are quickly spreading, before an Iran, which eyes Arab passiveness towards the Palestinian issue as its wide gate and firm fortress that can protect its nuclear program and strengthen its negotiating position with the West.

The "Israelis" will not hesitate to seize this golden opportunity to change the face of Quds and its features. They may even make hasty attempts to maintain new established realities with a military campaign to maximize on benefits from the existing American green light; therefore, calling on Americans to pay attention again to that the State of "Israel" is a key part of its overall regional security system extending beyond the Arabian Gulf, and that it cannot be ignored or postponed until after the negotiations with Iran on ending its nuclear program.

Another theory has become widely used in the past few days, about circumstances being befitting for a third Palestinian uprising - Intifada. Rationale may be stronger now than in the previous two uprisings in 1987 and 2000. Yet no one noticed that the Palestinian people alone could no longer bear the burdens of the whole nation.
