Three years on the Divine Victory... stories of real fighters

Source: Hizbullah Site Staff, 14-08-2009

"When fighting for a right, God's with you". This is the conviction of tremendous numbers of people of dignity whether are honorable martyrs or still alive. It is the conviction of not only Hizbullah fighters but also thousands of Lebanese who believe the 33 days "Israeli" merciless attack on Lebanon is a Divine Victory to them and a total defeat to their brutal enemy.

Three years have passed since the "Israeli" warplanes launched waves of air strikes on Lebanon after Hizbullah successfully detained "Israeli" soldiers. Three years have passed since the "Operation Truthful Pledge" that led to the fruitful Radwan Operation- the release of all Lebanese detainees in "Israeli" prisons including dean of detainees Kintar...
Three years have passed since "Israeli" warplanes bombed inhabited cities and villages, civil infrastructure, different civil facilities and other targets under pretext of cutting off roads on any coming supply for Hizbullah.

Three years ago, "Israel" tried all means possible to destroy the Islamic Resistance even through targeting innocent civilians and tried pressuring Hizbullah through massacres and genocides, but was ignorant that its people's souls feed and nourish on resistance. In return, the Islamic Resistance taught the Zionist state a hard and unforgettable lesson targeting mainly its army and weaponry. But this brutal "Israeli" attack and war ended with a Divine Victory for Lebanon, all Lebanon, against the Zionist enemy that still is in denial of its unprecedented defeat...

Today, in commemoration of three years since the Divine Victory, here in english.moqawama.org, Hizbullah's Official English Website, we provide some real life accounts from resistance fighters who were on the field, as well as others stories of civilians who fought their own way...
The 33 day bloody war on Lebanon holds within its folds stories of Hizbullah fighters who lived moments of resistance, strength, love and sacrifice for the land and in defense for rights and righteousness...

From villages and areas that were surrounded with gunfire, these same villages whose people achieved victory, are the source of stories in defense of the precious and pure land...
Here are some stories of resistance fighters who remain unknown, the mysterious men of God, who live among us like any other ordinary entity in society, until martyrdom reveals names and identities to surprise many of those who knew them and lived with them.

Three years on the Divine Victory... stories of real fighters

Rshaf fighter:

He was ordered to approach three houses in Rshaf village where "Israeli" army was located in, on the thirtieth day of war. Mirkava tanks and a military bulldozer were centered near the village's pond. "Israeli" planes raiding civilians' homes... Rshaf's people evacuated their houses except for a few who preferred to stay and support the fighters and serve them... One of those is "Hajjeh Rshaf" as the fighter named her. She insisted to stay in order to bake and cook for the resistance fighters and take care of them, as she sees her soul is no more precious than theirs... (Hajje Rshaf is only a sample of tens and hundreds of Lebanese civilians who were ready to sacrifice their lives for the sake of resistance fighters as they see themselves fighters in their own way and believe fighters, and the resistance deserve sacrifice)

Back to Rshaf fighter, who was now very close to the location where the Zionists stayed, but after five minutes of time, a few minutes of waiting outside the houses, his blood rushed boiling through his veins as he could no longer tolerate the presence of these land rapists, the Zionist soldiers. He instantly took out his gun and shot the first two soldiers that came to sight.. Then killed another two who stood out at the window to see what that noise was about. In a few seconds, Hizbullah fighters targeted the houses in which "Israelis" stayed, causing direct and severe damage. It was a hit target. Rshaf fighter ran out of ammunition and retreated to another point, Abu Thar compound.

There, Rshaf fighter met his brother and other resistance fighters who were also firing towards "Israelis" and fearlessly fighting them. He looked at his brother and told him to watch out and take care of himself to see his brother smile him and continue his mission.
Soon "Israeli" warplanes fired the spot, a few seconds it was when a missile from a drone plane separated between the two brothers throwing them each ona side and thick smoke came into sight.

Rshaf fighter's face hit the ground as he fell down, then stood up and started calling his brother to find he is stained with his own blood and has martyred.
Five minutes of that battle froze as Rshaf fighter said his good byes and farewells to his dear brother caressing him, wiping blood out of his face and body and promising to follow his lead. Rshaf fighter came back to battle and joined his fellow brothers, the resistance fighters to continue their battle of Divine Victory...

Rshaf fighter's will was stronger than ever. He loaded his gun and followed up with the other team as his leader requested him to. "Israelis" were about seven meters away now. Leader "Jaffal" asked the men to stay still for a few seconds as he moved forward to check the area with a rosary in his hand. Slowly approaching the target point, leader Jaffal was also targeted by a drone plane missile and achieved martyrdom. Confrontations and fights continued until there was cease fire. Rshaf fighter went out looking for his leader to find he has indeed tasted the sweetness of martyrdom.

Now, Rshaf fighter can burry his brother and his leader who were martyred a few seconds and less than a few meters away from him... and Rshaf fighter is still... a resister.

Here is another story of a resistance fighter, a man of God...

The three of us took turns in guard shifts, Rabi'i,Ibrahim, and I. Each one guards for two hours, but all of us were ready at all times for any confrontation.
A few days passed since the war had begun. Life was still very regular to the people of our village until the sky rained cats and dogs with bombs and missiles. It was then when many of the villagers decided to move out to a safer place, while my friends and I as well as many other young men and resistance fighters stayed to guard and protect our precious land and homes.

During that fiery night of constant bombing and gunfire, a group of "Israeli" soldiers attacked the house we stayed in. As soon as a soldier broke down the front door, our guns were unleashed. And as soon as it was possible, we called for support.

The battle between the "Israeli" soldiers took off from that little house into other parts of the village. We were now outside and sought shelter from drone planes under a huge tree. Ibrahim was hurt. A bullet hit his leg. Under that tree Rabi'i and I tried our best to clean Ibrahim's wound and tie it well. Then it was time for us to separate and go in different directions in order to finish the battle.

I got injured as well and was trapped in a house for 13 days. I had to survive on a few drops of water and an almond nut a day. I felt uneasy as I was injured and unable to finish the battle.

And then came the day when I woke up and found that the war had ended, and it was the Divine Victory... I came to know later that Rabi'i was also injured and trapped in one of the village houses. I went out to light to meet with other fighters. It was time to bring the martyrs from the battle ground and burry them. There was Ibrahim laying on the ground... an honored martyr.

A story on July 27 2006...

Three years on the Divine Victory... stories of real fighters

As dusk fell and, the last rays of the light glanced off the rocks of Maroun Al-Rass. Four resistance fighters hid inside the village. From time to time, the rattle of the "Israeli" Merkava tanks reached their ears; advancing from the surrounding towns were five tanks.

Any passerby would have assumed that there was nothing there but the "Israeli" war machines, which clanked and rattled as they ground through the landscape, turning up clouds of dust in their wake. The sounds grew louder, and the four fighters prepared to strike. Suddenly, the sound of explosions filled the air as "Israeli" warplanes shelled the ground 100 meters ahead of the tanks. The resistance fighters stuck to the rocks as if they were rock themselves-- firm, strong, and solid-- as the "Israeli" tanks and warplanes bombarded the area with rockets and missiles.

The aerial assault continued for five minutes, and then the tanks advanced into Maroun Al-Rass until they were very near the four resistance fighters. Then they halted. The sun had by then sunk into the sea, and the fields and hills were dark. Silence-- briefly-- reigned, till the leader of the group threw a tiny pebble to his three companions, each positioned a few meters away from him. Swiftly, the four fighters abandoned the boulders they had taken cover behind and launched four anti-tank missiles, each against a different tank.

The four targeted tanks were completely destroyed, and the crew of the fifth began to scramble out of it, fearing that it might be struck as well. The resistance fighters did not hesitate, and immediately fired their machine gun at the fifth tank, killing several of its crew members as others hid behind the tank, which was unable to move forward since the four tanks ahead of it were destroyed and blocked the way.

The entire fight happened within five minutes, but one of the last tank's crew members was able to use his radio and call for rescue. By then, having benefited from the element of surprise, the four fighters had withdrawn to a location near the battlefield, leaving behind four burnt tanks and approximately twenty dead or wounded "Israeli" soldiers. Seconds later, F-16 warplanes battered Maroun Al-Rass and the surrounding area surroundings, shelling it with more than fifty missiles, as an Apache helicopter flew in to remove the "Israeli" casualties. A missiles fragment wounded one of the four resistance fighters, and his companions took him to a nearby house, and then from there to a hospital.
These are only little samples of tens and hundreds of stories of bravery and trust in God on whom these fighters depend and believe in...Not only fighters are those who carry their guns and stand in the face of the hawkish enemy, but also their families who tolerate the bitterness of departure for the sake of the cause and to please the Lord...Not only the fighters and their families but also children, women, men, elderly of this honorable people who sacrificed as much as they could to support the resistance and its fighters..

Zahraa of Aineta...

The 17 year old girl who was about to enter the life of matrimony in a few weeks, wrote her will only one night away from her martyrdom.

Zahraa Fadlallah stayed with her mother in Aineta village in order to bake for the fighters and take care of them. She made sure that bread and water was accessible to the honored fighters. Zahraa was never afraid... she was very anxious to have the honor of martyrdom. She, like many other girls believe that Jihad is not exclusive for men but women too. Her dream came true as she tasted the sweetness of martyrdom after "Israeli" raids did the Job. True it is these missiles shredded her body, but to her and all believers, this body was the only thing hampering her soul from traveling to the skies. Now she is free.

A daily visitor to her son..

Three years on the Divine Victory... stories of real fighters

Last but not least of humble words and stories about the honorable people who defend and support with all the might and power they have is mother of martyr Hussein Mokdad.

This loving mother is a constant visitor to her son who is a martyr of the July 2006 war. In a small interview with this brave and tolerating heart, mother of Shaheed Hussein says:
"My son Hussein was a helpful person. His smile was always imprinted on his face no matter what..."

She looked at her son's tomb and added: "Hussein was martyred in the south during confrontations with the enemy. He has been a member of this movement since a long time, and so are his three brothers."
"Hussein called me on the phone a day before his soul departed to the upper skies. He talked to everyone, even his friends, as if he the time has come...
Departure is bitter, I miss him (his physical presence), but I believe he is with us always just like all martyrs are."

"We will not give up our beliefs not even over our dead bodies...we fought in the past, will fight now and forever".

These are only some stories, those of the 2006 Divine Victory. And as H.E. Sayyed Hassan Nassralla says: "This war, every war, and any other conspiracy against such honorable people will not have any effect other than make them stronger.

The tolerance, confidence in God, faith, convictions, and strength of these honored people - whether fighters holding guns or fighters of bare hands, of nails and teeth and rock- is steely and solid... Now and forever.. nothing in this existence can do them harm... it only makes them stronger and insistent to follow the lead of the honored martyrs... their teachers... their masters. .
