The fifth Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference in Muscat concluded Monday evening and released a final statement that included support for Lebanon's army, citizens, and the Resistance's efforts to liberate occupied land, such as the Shibaa Farms, the Kfar Shouba Hills and the Lebanese part of the Ghajar village.

The participants called for supporting reconstruction of areas destroyed during the 2006 July War, and the establishment of an Arab fund to clear cluster bombs left by "Israel".

The statement denounced "Israel's" continued disregard for the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions 425 and 1701, lack of commitment to an immediate ceasefire, daily violations of Lebanese airspace and waters, continuous attacks over the border, and the kidnapping of Lebanese citizens.

The statement also said the conference's participants supported Arab solidarity and reconciliation, the Palestinian Resistance, the opening of Gaza border crossings, and the free movement of persons and goods.

The statement rejected the International Criminal Court's decision to arrest Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, and added that the "principles of international law, the Vienna Conference and the United Nations Charter stated non-intervention in any sovereign country's internal affairs and believed in the principle immunity of heads of independent states."
