Qmati: Resistance became the guarantor of Lebanon΄s strength, immunity

Hizbullah official Mahmoud Qmati said on Friday that the Resistance became the guarantor of Lebanon's strength, immunity and protection from the external enemy, in addition to the country's stability, understanding and coexistence, which was better than relying on foreign guardianship and support.

During a commemoration for martyred Resistance members in Kfar Sala in Amchit, Qmati said Hizbullah was more determined than ever to preserve its arms, strength and capacity.
"When we become a formal institution, we have to be submitted to formal decision, which in turn is subject to international equations.

If the Resistance's decision is in Lebanon's hands, it will become in the hands of the Security Council, the UN, the Arab League and all international institutions, which we consider submitting to US policy. How are we supposed to recognize so-called international legitimacy, [when it] proved its failure in Gaza?" he said.

On the national dialogue and the defense strategy, Qmati confirmed that the Resistance would always be free and its arms would remain in its possession. He added that the Resistance would participate in the dialogue to ensure that the official Lebanese political stance supports the army, the Resistance and people.

Qmati said the upcoming parliamentary elections were important and essential for the Lebanese democratic system and confirmed that no party could govern alone. He also called for large-scale voting in the elections to ensure the opposition's victory.
