Islamic Parliament Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said here Wednesday "Israel's" defeat in confrontation with Hamas Jihadi force marked the beginning of that regime and global oppression's serious downfall at international scene.

Qom - According to IRNA correspondent in holy Qom, Larijani who was speaking at a memorial service for the martyrs of Gaza, titled ‘Gaza: Epic of Resistance', reiterated, "During ‘Israel's' 60-year occupation of Palestine, that regime had established a (military) force in the region, of which the entire regional countries were scared."

He added, "Taking advantage of that force, ‘Israel' has always been massacring the oppressed Palestinians here and there, but today the scene of the confrontation has changed drastically and it is that usurper regime that is moving towards its doomed extinction."

Iran's former top nuclear negotiator said, "It is the first time that the Zionist regime is facing a defeat at the land it claims (to be its promised one) in confrontation with a popular resistance force, Hamas."
He added, "Gaza was (in fact) freed in this war and proved that it is strong and standing on its own feet."

Larijani said, "Hamas resistance movement that had formerly failed in achieving political liberty through democratic methods managed to strengthen its legitimate government in Gaza thanks to its resistance in confrontation with the Zionist regime."
The Majlis speaker reiterated, "Although the people of Gaza dedicated over 1,400 martyrs and 5,000 war wounded victims, but their achievement (in that war) and the (extent of) the Zionist regime's defeat despite massacring many people is incomparable."

Larijani said, "A regime with a systematized army, relying on the cooperation of the superpowers and some Arab countries failed in defeating a resistance force, which means that regime's expiry date is near, and its doomed end is near at hand."

Referring to the aftermaths of the Gaza war, he said, "In that war the real face of ‘Israel' was revealed to the world nations and at the diplomatic scene, too, that regime and its supporters truly lost everything."
Larijani reiterated, "The ‘Israeli' regime and the United States that claim to be the standard bearers of liberal values contributed to the collapse of those values' essence before the public opinion of the world nations."

He considered revealing the real face of hypocricy in the region as another achievement of Gaza war, arguing, "Some governments that were secretly contributing assistance to ‘Israel' to facilitate the defeat of (the Lebanese) Hizbullah in the course of the 33 Day War in this war openly supported ‘Israel' and their real face was revealed to the entire world nations."

The veteran politician reiterated, "The resistance movements find their serious prestige in the course of patience and true resistance and Hamas emerged as a power from its former status of being a group, and thus, the Zionist regime gained none of its three objectives, namely disarmament of Hamas from its missile capability, severing Iran's arm in Gaza (as the Zionists claim), and urging the Gaza residents to yield to the reign of Mahmoud Abbas.

Larijani said, "Today, (the outgoing Palestinian Authority head) Mahmoud Abbas takes part at a meeting with some Arab leaders in Sharm el-Sheikh that Ismail Hanieh victoriously present in Gaza, as the head of the resistance force."

He meanwhile referred to the defaming of the international human rights groups as another aftermath of the Gaza war, arguing, "The foundations that had become tools in the hands of the Americans suffered a great loss in the course of this war. Those organizations had recently rushed to Georgia Republic (to find faults with Russia's conduct there), but remained dead silent in the course of the Gaza war to the last day."

Larijani said, "Some stands of some Arab countries that had during the last days lost hope in ‘Israel's' victory in the course of its military invasion changed during the last days of the war and they arranged for the holding of a session, in which they pretended to be the supporters of Hamas, and we are in fact not opposed to their story telling and dreaming, but the nations found out about their real nature."

He also criticized the silence of the new US president, saying, "(President) Obama had said that he was busy spending the major part of his time looking for a pet dog for his daughter at the White House, adding that he would very soon begin seeking a solution aimed at ending the Gaza war."

Larijani added, "Thus, both his comments, and the ‘Israeli' (deadly) invasion were scenes of a covert scenario, while today the fruits of the strong tree of the Islamic Revolution are bearing fruit at Islamic lands, such as Lebanon and Palestine, and the world Muslims are defending their prosperity and prestige in the light of glowing sun of this revolution."

On the real nature of Gaza war, he said, "‘Israel' and America were seeking for a way to cooperate at the international scene aimed at harnessing Iran's (peaceful) nuclear program, but in order to do that they needed to destroy both Hamas and Hizbullah in advance."

Larijani reiterated, "They had assumed that Hamas was weakened, and had therefore decided to implement their malicious plan in Gaza initially, but the big plot faced death at embryonic phase."

He also referred to "Israel's" need to tackle its internal problems, taking advantage of the move at their future elections, taking full advantage of the power change era in the United States, improving the lost fame of both "Israel" and America in the world and sowing the seeds of discord among the Muslims' camp, as some of the other objectives of the invasion against Gaza.
