‘Israeli' warplanes have struck the Hamas Interior Ministry in the Gaza strip as the ‘Israeli' tanks massed at the Gaza border.

'Israeli' aircrafts pounded 40 more Palestinian positions on the Gaza Strip throughout the night, including the government building and a University.

Witnesses saw columns of fire and smoke rising over the university, counting six separate air strikes there just after midnight.

Hamas said that the ‘Israeli' jets bombed the Gaza Interior Ministry on Monday, the first air strike that targeted a government building in Israel's offensive, Reuter reports.

There have been no immediate reports of any casualties.

Press TV correspondent in the area says that Gazans feel safe in no place in the impoverished area as the deadly ‘Israeli' aerial campaign continues for the third day and ‘Israeli' tanks are roaring on the Gaza border, preparing for a ground offensive into the coastal region.

Earlier, the ‘Israeli' army hit tunnels, a central prison, Hamas's al-Aqsa TV and the city's main security compound.

The army has also called up over six thousand reserve troops for a possible ground attack.

The developments come as the Red Cross says Gaza hospitals are overwhelmed with injured people. Many of the wounded are dying due to the lack of medical supplies.

Gaza has been under a tight ‘Israeli'-imposed blockade for a long time which banned the arrival of basic needs including food, fuel and medicine into the Strip.

'Israeli' attacks have so far left at least 310 killed and 1550 others injured.

Meanwhile, Hamas and its military wings called on all factions and armed groups in Gaza to strike back to avenge the ‘Israeli' assaults and protect the Palestinian people.
