Hizbullah Media Relations considered the act committed by the reporter for the "Baghdadiya" channel, Montazar Zaidi, of throwing a shoe at Bush as a stark expression of the rejection the Iraqi people sense towards the abhorrent U.S. occupation. This act reflects a truthful rejection, by the Iraqi people and with them the peoples of the entire world, of all kinds of injustices, occupation and tyranny.

The media relations statement also indicated that the farewell-kiss gallantly imprinted by Zaidi, on behalf of the "widows, orphans and people who have been killed in Iraq" deserves appreciation, in the full glare of the world that was closely following the statement of President George W. Bush, Jr.

The statement added that the media relations considers the move by Zaidi to paint the conclusion of Bush the symbol of tyranny, and the fate of every occupier, of belonging at peoples shoes level, regardless of how hard Bush tries to diminish from the symbolic importance of such exposure.

While the media relations condemns the attack and arrest of Zaidi it calls to dealing with his as a human being, a hero who refused and rejects what has been and continues to be committed against his people by the occupation.

The Media Relations hereby calls upon the various local and Arab media groups, to stand in solidarity with Zaidi and to participate in the campaign calling for his swift release.
