Ahmadinejad: Lebanese Resistance good model for regional countries

The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported on Sunday that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the Lebanese Resistance to the ‘Israeli' regime was a good model for all regional nations.
The agency said that he made the remark in a meeting with former President Emile Lahoud who was on a visit to Tehran.
He voiced Iran's support for the Lebanese Resistance movement, reiterating that the Islamic Republic has supported Lebanon in difficult times, according to the agency.
It added that the Iranian president said, "Since the enemy of the Lebanese nation has become weak, it can be easily defeated through unity and solidarity of the Lebanese people."
IRNA also said that Ahmadinejad stressed on the need for the promotion of regional economic status through all-out cooperation among regional countries.
Briefing Ahmadinejad on the latest developments in Lebanon, Lahoud said that he appreciated Iran's warm hospitality during his stay in Tehran, IRNA reported.
The agency added that Lahoud said the Lebanese leaders had always been determined to boost cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He lauded the vigilance of the Lebanese nation toward the conspiracies of the "Zionist regime," according to the agency.
IRNA concluded that Lahoud reiterated that, "the future belongs to independent and peace loving nations."
