Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Amin Cherri told Al-Manar television said that the people of Lebanon consider the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 important. The resolution states the necessity of Lebanese army deployment along the borders with Syria.
Highlighting the contradictions, he then pointed out that some Lebanese also claim that Syrian reinforcement, which aimed to prevent smuggling and control the borders, was an intervention in Lebanese issues.
He added that Iran was open toward all parties and for that reason MP Michel Aoun was invited to visit Tehran and because he represented the Christian majority in Lebanon.
"Claiming that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah will replace Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir's role is cheap," he said.
