Lebanese President Michel Suleiman held on Sunday a meeting with Saudi Arabian King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and discussed bilateral, Arab and international issues alongside enhancing bilateral relations between their countries.

According to pan-Arab daily Al-Hayat, Suleiman thanked Saudi Arabia's important role in supporting Lebanese people since Taif Agreement. For his part, King Abdullah stressed that the Kingdom has supported Lebanon before its independence and is still supporting it to provide staunch backing without any discrimination among Christians, Muslims and all other sects.

The Saudi Arabian ambassador to Lebanon Abdul Aziz Khoja said that the discussions included political, economic and cultural relations, adding that the kingdom will keep supporting Lebanon in order to reach stability.

The Lebanese President also met on Sunday night with Lebanese business executives and emphasized the necessity of improving the image of the national unity.

He said that the security situation was improving, especially after the army arrested terrorists implicated in the September 29 Tripoli attacks, which killed seven, stressing that there are no terrorist regions in Lebanon.

He said that ''terrorist acts" in Arab and Islamist countries will end soon and that not all refugee camps would experience conflict like the 15 weeks of fighting in the Nahr al-Bared camp last year.

Suleiman arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday for talks with King Abdullah, heading an official delegation which also included Deputy Premier Issam Abu Jamra, Education Minister Bahia Hariri, Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh, Public Works Minister Ghazi Aridi, Economy Minister Mohammad Safadi, and Minister of State Nassib Lahoud.

Suleiman's media office said the president would remain in Saudi Arabia for two days.

The kingdom was Suleiman's fifth foreign destination, since his election in late May, following earlier visits to France, Qatar, Syria, and the United States. The president is also expected to visit Egypt, Canada, and Iran in the coming weeks.
