‘Israeli' military commander of the north Gadi Eizenkot projected the "new Israeli war doctrine" in any new confrontation with Hizbullah.

Eizenkot threatened south Lebanon villages and towns with what he called the "Dahiye (Beirut's southern suburb) model" emphasizing "it is an approved military plan."

Speaking to Yediot Aharonot, Eizenkot, who was the head of the operations branch in the general command during the 2006 war, said that "in the next war, we will follow the "Dahiyeh model" against any town from which rockets are launched against Israel."

"Hizbullah knows that firing rockets from towns will lead to their destruction, so (Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan) Nasrallah will think 30 times about destroying his support base before giving orders to open fire on ‘Israel'," he said.

The Major General, who is considered as one of the candidates to head the General Staff, stressed "these are not recommendations but an endorsed plan. We will no longer go after rocket launchers because this has been unsuccessful."

"There had been two major failures in Lebanon: First is that we did not shorten the war and second, is that we let them bomb us for 33 days in what was the most extensive bombing since ‘independence war'. The conclusion is that when the next war breaks out, it should be swiftly and forcefully settled regardless of the international public opinion. We have the ability to do this and I possess tremendous force compared with the past years, so I have no justifications not to achieve the goals that will be set for me," Eizenkot told the Yediot Aharanot daily.

He also warned that natural reserves will be targeted as well if it contained a military post or an intelligence, communications or command office.

When asked if the same plan is applicable on Syria, Eizenkot said: "Yes, in Syria they know very well that we can do to them what we did to Dahiyeh."
