Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stressed nothing, no matter how serious, will drive a wedge between the army and the resistance."
"The army and the Resistance are completely immune to sedition," Sayyed Nasrallah was quoted as saying by Al-Quds mosque Imam Sheikh Maher Hammoud who held a three-hour meeting with his eminence. "Any tragic incident should be dealt with far from overbidding, media uproar and political exploitation."
Sheikh Hammoud said that Sayyed Nasrallah elaborated on the course of events since the July 2006 aggression.
Sheikh Hammoud also quoted Sayyed Nasrallah as saying that the Resistance's decision-making was at its hands. "Since its creation, it has never occurred that the resistance was asked to carry out an operation or stop another.
The Resistance leader highlighted that Iran's backing for Hizbullah was merely religious, not for temporary tactical and political ends. "The enemies of the Resistance have no weapons other than the confessional strife," his eminence said, adding that "unfortunately some are unknowingly propagating this while others know exactly what they are doing," Sayyed Nasrallah stressed.
On the "Israeli" threats against Lebanon, Sayyed Nasrallah told Sheikh Hammoud they were for mere "Israeli" domestic use and to get ("Israeli" Prime Minister Ehud) Olmert out of his crises. "These are not real or possible threats at the time being," Sayyed Nasrallah said.
"Nevertheless, the Resistance is completely ready to defend Lebanon in case of any Israeli aggression regardless of its magnitude or capabilities" Sayyed Nasrallah vowed.
