Imam Khamenei Urges More Cooperation among Asian Countries

Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Sunday that Asian states should work together more than ever, as their cooperation will contribute to their strength.
As he met with Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, the Imam referred to cultural and historical relations between the two countries and countries of the Subcontinent, saying that trade ties between Iran and Sri Lanka are low in view of their capacities.
Describing Iran's scientific, technical and research achievements as a suitable ground for boosting mutual collaboration, Imam Khamenei added that the Islamic Republic is ready for strengthening friendship and cooperation with Sri Lanka government.
The Imam called for seriously pursuing the memoranda of understanding signed Sunday.
Sirisena, for his part, conveyed his nation and administration's warm greeting to the Leader, saying that during today's meeting, it was agreed to multiply mutual cooperation and implement the memoranda of understanding.
Saying that "Iran is one of the most advanced countries in the technical, scientific and academic fields," he hoped that Sri Lanka would take advantage of its scientific advancements by boosting bilateral collaboration.
