Great Return March: Palestinians Gathering at Fence for Second Week of Anti-’Israel’ Mass Protest
Local Editor
For the second week, Palestinian protesters are gathering at Gaza's fence for the largest anti-occupation rally since last Friday, when the "Israeli" military martyred 20 defenseless civilians.
So far, hundreds of protesters have already arrived at the fence separating the Gaza Strip from the "Israeli"-occupied territories, with their numbers expected to reach some 30,000 later on Friday.
Last Friday, happening to be on March 30, falling on the 42nd anniversary of Palestine's Land Day, marked the start of a six-week protest in Gaza, dubbed "The Great Return March."
However, that mass protest turned violent when "Israeli" military forces used lethal force to disperse the crowd.
Earlier on the same day, another Palestinian was martyred as a result of gunshot wounds suffered last week, bringing the death toll from the Zionist regime's brutal crackdown to 20. Some 1,500 people were also injured.
Thousands of Palestinians have been in tent encampments near the fence over the past week.
The enemy has deployed military vehicles and Special Forces, including snipers, to Gaza's border. The apartheid regime's forces have also permission to open fire on the protesters near the fence.
Palestinian activists dubbed today's protest "Tires' Friday.
