MP Hassan Fadlallah of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc said that putting the Shibaa Farms under international control will not put any pressure on the Resistance, adding, "The international concern with the Shibaa Farms is because of the Resistance and the role it plays, not for any other reason."

He also added there are two kinds of obstacles facing the establishment of the government. "The first obstacle comes from the outside, which is the US administration's interference, which does not favor the establishment of a national-unity government. The second obstacle is local, namely the majority, who won't respond to the opposition's demands," MP Fadlallah said in a statement.

He also noted the emergence of additional obstacles since US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's surprise visit to Lebanon this week. "We hope that those who consider themselves Washington's allies are aware that their bet on the US administration will drive them to accept what they are rejecting now," he added.

"The US has publicly rejected letting the opposition have the guaranteeing one-third vote in the government. It also obstructed the establishment of the national-unity government for a year and a half. The US is now feeling damaged by the Doha Agreement," he said.

MP Fadlallah said that the opposition is coherent. "We consider MP Michel Aoun's demands legitimate, and they must be fulfilled, because the problem facing the formation of the government is some parties' rejection of full partnership."
