The head of Palestinian Hamas Resistance movement Hams called Thursday for fresh protests across the world against US President Donald Trump's declaration of Occupied Al-Quds a s a capital for the "Israeli" apartheid regime.

"We demand the Islamic world make every Friday a day of anger and revolution in every capital and city until we bring down Trump's decision," Ismail Haniya said.

He further stated: "We ask churches, the Pope and our Christian brothers to devote their Sunday prayers to Al-Quds.".

Speaking in front of tens of thousands of supporters in besieged Gaza at an event to commemorate movement's 30th anniversary, Haniya railed against Trump's December 6 announcement that he would move his country's embassy to Al-Quds and recognize the city as the Zionist entity's capital.

"We will bring down Trump's decision once and for all," he added.

The event was attended by major Hamas figures as well as politicians from other political parties.

"Hamas was created in order to defend Palestine; and occupied Al-Quds in particular," he pointed out.

Haniyeh went on to say that all freedom-loving people of the world supported the cause of Palestine as well as Al-Quds.

The senior Palestinian political figure then hailed Palestinians' resistance against the new "Israeli"-US scheme, saying, "Unity in the face of the US scheme on Al-Quds is a victory for the Palestinian nation."

"Al-Quds belongs to the entire world," he noted, calling for mass protest rallies worldwide in order to force Washington to reverse its decision on the city.

"No power in the world can change the identity of Al-Quds. "Israel" does not exist and therefore cannot have a capital. We will sacrifice our blood and life for Al-Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque," Haniyeh pointed out.

He said Palestinians could quash Trump's decision, emphasizing that the Muslim world would not allow such a move to proceed.

"Palestinians must achieve unity through mutual respect. They must be able to live in the Gaza Strip in a dignified manner," the Hamas leader commented.

Haniyeh also demanded the formation of a strong alliance in the Middle East region in order to fight for the Palestinian cause and also urged formulation of a clear strategy to confront the occupying regime of "Israel".

Protests in other parts of the Palestinian territories, as well as across the Arab world, have broken out since Trump's announcement.
