Tehran once again warned Washington against designating the elite wing of the Iranian Army, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps [IRGC], as a terrorist group, saying that "all options are on the table," according to a top aide to Iran's supreme leader.

Iran: ‘All Options Are On Table’ If US Blacklists IRGC

"Whatever they do we will take reciprocal measures. All options are on the table," Ali Akbar Velayati, senior adviser to the Islamic Revolution's Supreme Leader His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday, Reuters reports citing ISNA news agency.

Velayati went on to accuse Washington of supporting Daesh [the Arabic acronym for Takfiri ‘ISIS/ISIL' group] terrorists.

Relatively, an Iranian government's spokesperson considered that taking a position against the IRGC and calling them a terrorist group will lead the US to join the terrorists' camp.

Meanwhile, Iranian official Mohammad Baker stated that the world should be grateful to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards for fighting terrorists.

Earlier, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman warned that the country's reaction to the possibility of the IRGC being designated as a terror group would be 'firm and crushing'.

According to the spokesman, the US shouldn't pressure Iran while negotiating regional issues.

In July 2017, the United Stated imposed new sanctions against the country's ballistic missile program.

In response, Iran increased its program's funding.

It is expected that US President Donald Trump will designate Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization, as he plans to reveal a tougher new strategy on Iran next week.

On October 5th, Trump stated that Iran has "not lived up to the spirit of their agreement" and added that he "will be discussing that tonight." His words prompted media speculations that Iranian nuclear deal was not in the national interests of the US any more.
