MP Nawwar al-Saheli of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc said the struggle in Lebanon is not sectarian, "for the struggle is political and not between Sunni and Shia."
"The resistance was never a sectarian one for it was defending all Lebanon," Saheli said.
He also noted that it was the resistance that drove Israel from Lebanon in 2000 under pressure and without conditions.
"When Israel sought to save face in the 2006 July War, its defeat was greater. Thus, it resorted to creating a Sunni-Shia struggle," Saheli said.
He also called for establishing the government as soon as possible and not using the pretext of security to delay its formation.
