Arsal Battle: Saraya Ahl Al-Sham to Leave Outskirts
Local Editor

Saraya Ahl al-Sham members will leave the northeastern town of Arsal and its outskirts Saturday, a source from the group said Friday.

Militant buses leave Arsal outskirts

Members belonging to the Free Syrian Army-affiliated group and other Syrian refugees will move to the Syrian city of Al-Ruhaibeh in eastern Qalamoun after a delay in their repatriation, the source told The Daily Star.

The militant source previously said that 400 militants, along with 1,000 family members and 1,500 other Syrian nationals had expressed willingness to go to al-Ruhaibeh.

The source also said that the delays in implementing the deal were due to concerns from the Syrian government about the final destination of those repatriating.

On its official Twitter account, Hezbollah War Media Center reported that "arrangements for the repatriation of 350 militants from Saraya Ahl al-Sham are scheduled to begin Saturday along with dozens of families from Arsal encampments."
