Zeinab Essa

Hezbollah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Nasrallah delivered Friday a speech, in which he chose to comment on the victory scored after Arsal outskirts' battle.

Hezbollah SG Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah

At the beginning of his speech, Sayyed Nasrallah congratulated the freed Hezbollah captives on their return to their country.

"I congratulate the captives who have returned to freedom and to their homeland. I also congratulate and offer condolences to the families of all martyrs and I salute the wounded fighters and the Mujahedeen," His Eminence said.

In parallel, the resistance Leader thanked all Lebanese people who received the freed fighters as well as everyone in Lebanon and the region for the completion of the battle. He further thanked the resident of the northwestern border town of Al-Qaa, in particular.

"I thank our people in al-Qaa who embraced and welcomed the freed captives and were partners in this achievement. It is my duty to reassure the rest of the families that we are closely and honestly following up on the issue of the bodies that are still with the militants, the Daesh-held captive and the rest of the missing fighters. I'm personally following up on the file."

Meanwhile, His Eminence announced that "Hezbollah still have martyrs whose bodies are in captivity." "We also have a captive brother and a missing one. We will work day by night to liberate them," he declared.

As His Eminence thanked the Lebanese President Michel Aoul for all what the support he offered to end the negotiations, he unveiled that PM Saad Hariri had agreed to and "facilitated" the negotiations that led to Nusra's withdrawal from Arsal's outskirts.

In a similar context, Sayyed Nasrallah praised the role of General Security head Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim for his role in the negotiations.

"I laud the remarkable efforts and strenuous and critical work that were exerted by Major General Abbas Ibrahim," he stated.

Moving to the Syrian front, the Resistance Leader hailed the sacrifices of the Syrian army and its efforts in the battle.

According to His Eminence, "The media has not been fair towards the Syrian army and its sacrifices on this front and we mist appreciate its sacrifices, martyrs and wounded."

"The quickest way that led to end of the battle is that Al-Nusra found itself trapped on two fronts," he mentioned, noting that "The Syrian army was fighting in the Flita outskirts and we were fighting by their side."

He went on to say: "The fighting on two fronts from Flita and Arsal was the reason for the outcome of the battle, as Al-Nusra had to fight on two fronts."

Regarding the negotiations, Sayyed Nasrallah praised the Syrian side, that did not say ‘we will accept a certain number of militants and civilians."

"They did not place any condition on the transport of militants back to Syria, while the delay in the implementation of the deal was from the Lebanese side."

According to His Eminence, "the transport of al-Nusra militants and their families was facilitated on the Syrian side."

Sayyed Nasrallah further urged all Lebanese sides to appreciate the Syrian contribution to the battle as well as the transferal of hundreds of militants and thousands of civilians.

"This is a reason why the no one [should] tell us that we should wait for the United Nations or for a political solution in Syria," he added, noting that "it is our moral duty to thank President Al-Assad, the Syrian leadership and officials, the Syrian red crescent and anyone who exerted efforts on the ground to return our captives."

Calling Lebanese sides to learn lessons from these negotiations, Sayyed Nasrallah highlighted that this operation led to the transfer of hundreds of militants and thousands of families without international efforts.

"The guarantors on the ground were the Lebanese General Security and the Syrian regime."

He reiterated that "when the Lebanese Army is ready, Hezbollah will hand over outskirts of Arsal."

Moving to the coming battle with Daesh, Sayyed Nasrallah announced that the Lebanese Army will firmly liberate the areas occupied by Daesh in northeast Lebanon.

In this context, he explained that Daesh controls a large area, some of which is in the Syrian territory and the other is from the Lebanese territory."
Sayyed Nasrallah also announced that the Syrian army and Hezbollah will attack Daesh from the Syrian side of border

"We in Hezbollah are in the service of the Lebanese army and we will carry out all what the army demands. We want the army to achieve a quick and decisive victory with the lowest human cost because every officer and soldier are our sons and brothers," he underscored.

To some political Lebanese sides, Sayyed Nasrallah sent a sounding message: "Put the political machination aside from the battle so that the front is one. The timing of the front is in the hands of the Lebanese army. We're ready for the battle on the other side."

And to Daesh, the Resistance Leader sent an advice: "Be rational, there is still time to negotiate surrender."

Addressing Daesh militants, he said "there are a few days separated us from the start of the fighting. Daesh should know that the decision is final and the attack will begin in a few days. The field is ready and its outcome is decisive as well as your defeat. Certainly, Lebanon will have a new coming victory."

As His Eminence falsified the recent fabrications called the so-called "Hezbollah cell in Kuwait", he stated that Hezbollah is very keen on the best relations between Lebanon and Kuwait.
