Saudi Crackdown: Dozens of Shia Activists at Risk of Execution

In the latest among dangerous developments regarding the Saudi crackdown against its Shia community, the Kingdom's courts ratified execution sentences against 33 Shia citizens.

In further details, some of those activists sentenced to execution by the Supreme Court and the Specialized Court of Appeals were minors at the time of their detention.

The citizens were categorized in four groups, in which 33 sentences were ratifies and 3 others are still in their initial phase, as the following:

First, the Specialized Court of Appeals ratified the execution sentences of:

1. Salem Al-Harbi
2. Mohammed Al-Ateyah
3. Abbas Al-Hassan
4. Mohammed Al-Ashour
5. Taleb Al-Harbi
6. Hussein Al-Hamidi
7. Hussein Al-Abboud
8. Ali Al-Ashour
9. Ali Al-Mehanna
10. Ahmed Al-Nasser
11. Husein Al-Ibrahim
12. Abdullah Al-Khamees
13. Abbas Al-Abbad
14. Youssef Al-Harbi
15. Taher Al-Harbi

Second, the Supreme Court ratified the execution sentences of:


1. Hussein Hassan Al Rabi'h
2. Abdullah Hani Al Tarif
3. Hussein Mohammed Al Moslem
4. Mohammed Mansour Al Nasser
5. Mostafa Ahmed Darwish
6. Fadhel Hassan Labbad
7. Said Mohammed Skafi
8. Salman Amine Al Qureish
9. Mujtaba Nader Swayket
10. Munir Abdullah Al Adam
11. Abdullah Salman Al Sreih
12. Ahmed Faisal Al Darwish
13. Abdul Aziz Hassan Al Sahwi
14. Ahmed Al Rabi'h

Third: the Specialized Court of Appeals also ratified the execution sentences of:


1. Ali Mohammed Al-Nimr
2. Abdullah Al-Zaher
3. Dawoud Al-Marhoun
4. Abdul Kareem Al-Hawaj

Fourth: Primary sentences to execute:

1. Jaber Al-Marhoun
2. Mohammed Al-Khatem
3. Abdullah Al-‘Awjan

It is worth mentioning that all of the activists sentenced to death by execution are from the Shia population of Qatif, Ahsaa' and Medina, and many of them were detained when they were still minors.
