Three days after the battle to liberate Arsal from the Wahhabi terrorists, the al-Nusra Front - al-Qaida's affiliate in the Levant - regressed as the geographic area it occupied shrank. Based on coordinates, the Resistance had liberated 66% of Flita and cornered al-Nusra in an area of 34% only.

Prior to the military operations, al-Nusra occupied 90 square kilometers in Arsal outskirts and approximately 35 square kilometers in Flita outskirts.

Accordingly, Hezbollah War Media Center announced that Flita outskirts in western Qalamoun is entirely safe and free of Nusra terrorists after the Resistance and Syrian Army were able to liberate it.

In the field, Resistance fighters were able to progress against al-Nusra Front in Arsal. The Resistance took control of Wadi al-Owaini, which is considered an important post of Nusra terrorists.

Moreover, Hezbollah fighters seized Shubat al-Qalaa, east of Arsal, which is the highest in the area about 2350 meters above sea level and overlooks Wadi al-Dob and Wadi al-Rihan.

The center added that heavy losses were inflicted upon the Wahhabi insurgents, noting that 46 Nusra terrorists had been killed in Arsal, while 23 others in Flita in Syria's West Qalamoun.

In a related context, Saraya Ahl al-Sham militants - part of the so-called Free Syrian Army - announced a cease-fire in preparation as a prelude to negotiations.

It is worth noting that 200 armed militants of Saraya Ahl al-Sham had retreated from the ongoing battle in Arsal and headed to refugee camps in Wadi Hamid and al-Malahi areas after coordinating with the Resistance leadership.
