Daesh-Linked Terrorists Attack Town in S Philippines, Occupy School

The Bangsamoro Fighters [BIFF] militant group linked with Daesh [the Arabic acronym for the terrorist ‘ISIS/ISIL' group] attacked a town of Pigcawayan in the southern Filipino province of Cotabato and occupied a school, media reported Wednesday citing local police chief.
Meanwhile, the al-Jazeera broadcaster reported that a hostage situation might be underway.
The Philippine southern island of Mindanao is regularly subjected to attacks by terrorist groups, in particular, Maute, the BIFF and Abu Sayyaf militant groups, linked with Daesh.
Clashes between terrorists and the Philippine military forced prompted President Rodrigo Duterte to declare martial law in the entire island in May.
