The Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, described the two terrorist attacks in Tehran as "cowardly". He said in an interview with Al-Ahed news website that "these cowardly terrorist attacks will strengthen Iran's determination and seriousness in confronting terrorism."

Shura Council: The Cowardly Terrorist Attacks Strengthen Iran’s Determination to Confront Terrorism

For his part, the spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Shura Council, Hossein Naqvi Hosseini, said, "the Islamic Republic is always threatened openly, and we see that America and the Zionist entity are officially threatening Iran. The terrorists such as ‘Daesh' and ‘Al-Qaeda' are also threatening Iran. This is a phenomenon that has no parallel in the world where states and groups threaten a state continuously and openly."

He adds that "we devote all our energies and capabilities to confront terrorism and today we are on the front line in fighting it because we are being threatened. We are also victims of terrorism. Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iran has provided more than 17,000 martyrs - victims of terrorism. So Iran has the right to fight terrorism."

"We offer advisory support in Iraq and Syria, which is a heartfelt aid because we are threatened by terrorism," he said.

Hosseini notes that "these terrorists were hoping to carry out operations in Iran and they failed in all their attempts. They were saying why can we conduct operations in France and Britain, but in Iran we cannot do one operation." He adds "So we see that hundreds of terrorist plots were planned to strike Iran, and hundreds of terrorist groups were sent, but all of them were thwarted. Among these hundreds, in the end, one group was able to carry out a cowardly operation."

Regarding the details of the terrorist attack, Hosseini said that "the terrorists entered a special door for the citizens who want to meet with their deputies and raise their concerns. There are four doors in the Islamic Shura Council, but they came from a special door where people are searched casually because they come exhausted from distant cities. We can see that the ‘Daesh' cowards opened fire after entering, on citizens who were unarmed and fasting."

He adds that "the shrine of Imam Khomeini is also a public place for citizens, but the police forces managed to eliminate them there very quickly."

The spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Shura Council said that "these terrorist operations came after the severe blows inflicted by the Islamic Republic of Iran," adding that "the whole world knows that terrorism is the fate of the evil triad represented by America, Saudi Arabia and the Zionist entity. These are the founders and supporters of these terrorist groups."

He points out that "the behavior of Saudi Arabia and the United States towards the terrorist attacks in Tehran was different from the other countries that condemned the operation. They adopted unacceptable stances because these terrorists are their friends."

Regarding the recently implemented measures against terrorist networks, Naqvi Hosseini said that "following this incident, these groupings were hit and more than 40 terrorists were arrested in this field. There is a comprehensive operation that was already in place to identify those involved and the supporters of these terrorist groups."

For his part, Rasool Khadri, MP from the Iranian province of Kurdistan [and he is from our Sunni brothers], said that "the Islamic Republic of Iran is playing a major role in the resistance axis and is strongly confronting ‘Daesh' in Syria and Iraq and has succeeded in this area." He adds that "the reason for the enmity of the Daesh supporters -America and Saudi Arabia - towards Iran is the role the latter is playing in confronting terrorism."

Khadri notes that "since the Revolution's victory, the enemies have been scheming against the Islamic Republic. They have launched the imposed war against Iran. Their terrorist accomplices were simultaneously carrying out terrorist operations. Today, we see that they support the terrorists in carrying out terrorist operations against Iran."

Khadri cited comments by the Security Minister during the council's non-public meeting, in which he said that the "terrorist groups are being exposed daily," adding that "Saudi Arabia and the United States have conditioned the terrorists on continuing to provide financial and logistical support if they carried out operations against Iran. We see that during this period they have exerted all their efforts in this field." He stressed that "these operations will not affect the determination of the Iranian people in confronting terrorism; especially since Iran is the biggest victim of terrorism."

He pointed out that "the presence of Iran in Syria and Iraq to counter terrorism supports the achievement of security and stability in the region." He said that the terrorists exploit the name of Islam and they do not belong to Islam. But they are the enemies of the Islamic nation. They are agents of the Zionist and global arrogance and Al Saud."

He wondered "Have you seen ‘Daesh' fire one shot at the usurper Zionist entity?" He adds that "this indicates where the terrorist groups and those who support and plan for them belong to."

He stressed that "the Daesh terror organization came to fight the resistance and free people, but defeat and collapse will be the fate of these terrorist groups." He adds that "they are carrying out blind terrorist operations and do not differentiate between Shias and Sunnis when they want to shed blood and kill innocent citizens."

He stressed that "They want to spread division among the Muslims and they are not Muslims."
