Bahrain witnessed on Sunday many angry protests denouncing the court's sentence issued against religious leader His Eminence Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, over alleged charges of managing the Shiite religious Khums ritual.
Thousands of Bahrainis took to the streets in dozens of Bahraini towns and villages on Sunday night, calling against the Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who also on the same day met with US President Donald Trump in Riyadh.
Protesters warned the government against committing any escalatory steps against Ayatollah Qassim, stressing their readiness to sacrifice their lives for him.
Regime forces fired shotgun bullets and teargas canisters at protests, leading to several injuries.
In Diraz, where thousands protest outside Sheikh Qassim's house, a mass march rallied in the streets of the town, with protesters confirming their continuous sit-in.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior summoned the heads of Diraz-based obsequies, and asked them to help and intervene to disperse the sit-in staged outside Sheikh Qassim's house.
