"Israeli" authorities have kept military commanders under tight watch for fear of Hizbullah carrying out operations against them, in retaliation for the assassination of the resistance group top commander martyr Imad Moghnieh, "Israeli" daily Maariv said.
The daily military correspondent noted that, in the framework of the security measures adopted, strict vigilance was kept on the residences of army officers holding the rank of brigadier generals and above. Those were also given instructions on how to behave in public places.
Maariv said "Israel's" main worry was that Hizbullah would try through a Palestinian network to nail down senior "Israeli" officers to avenge Moghnieh's assassination.
According to estimations, Hizbullah targets would comprise the 80th division commander Yo'il Strike, Gaza division commander Chico Tamir, the 91st division commander Imad Fares, the West Bank division commander Noam Tibon. The daily stressed that the decision to put commanders under tight watch was taken in light of a renewed assessment of the situation in the security body with regard to the general threats.
A security source noted, in this context, that "in the first stage, they check up the fortification level that should be given to the residence, knowing that this level changes from one place to another; they mainly set up lighting, and if needed, filming tools, but most important, sirens against plunging into the houses alongside linking them to a civilian institution supervision that would be linked to the police body if necessary."
